Lux Pascal, the transgender actress and younger sister of The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal, has confirmed what fans have long suspected: Hollywood’s favorite “zaddy” is every bit as kind-hearted off-screen as he appears. During an interview at Madrid’s Platino Awards on April 27, the 32-year-old Juilliard graduate gushed about her brother’s unwavering support, both personally and in his advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights.
“I’ve always known he is a superstar,” said Lux of Pedro, 50, who next stars in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. “People ask me, ‘Is he as kind as we think he is?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes!’” She praised how he “wears all of his humanity on his sleeve,” adding: “That’s the main lesson I’ve gotten from him—there’s no reason for me to hide who I am.”
Pedro’s allyship recently made headlines when he criticized J.K. Rowling after she celebrated a U.K. Supreme Court ruling denying legal recognition to transgender women under Britain’s Equality Act. The Harry Potter author had financially backed the campaign group behind the case and marked the decision with a cigar-clad social media post.
Lux, who came out as trans in a 2021 Ya magazine cover story, recalled her family’s immediate acceptance: “It’s almost something they expected to happen.” Pedro publicly championed her transition, sharing her cover on Instagram with the caption “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux” (“My sister, my heart, our Lux”).
From red carpets to social justice stands, the Pascal siblings prove that fame hasn’t dimmed their authenticity—or their bond.
