Jeff Bezos Sells Seattle Mansion in Record-Breaking $63 Million Deal

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has sold his Seattle mansion for $63 million, marking the most expensive home sale in Washington state history.

The tech billionaire, worth over $200 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, purchased the property in 2019 for $37.5 million—netting a $25.5 million profit from the sale. The buyer, Cayan Investments LLC, now owns the luxurious estate in Hunts Point, an exclusive neighborhood overlooking Lake Washington.

Spanning 9,420 square feet on 3.27 acres, the mansion features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, an elevator, a rooftop terrace, and a glass walkway leading to a two-story guesthouse.

Its 300-foot waterfront stretch offers sweeping views of the lake, just seven miles from Amazon’s Seattle headquarters and other tech giants like Microsoft and Google. The home was previously owned by the late Barney A. Ebsworth, an art collector and early Build-A-Bear investor.

Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sanchez relocated to Miami 18 months ago, citing a desire to be closer to his parents and the growing operations of his aerospace company, Blue Origin, in Cape Canaveral. “My parents have always been my biggest supporters,” Bezos shared on Instagram last year.

Sanchez, who recently joined a Blue Origin spaceflight with Katy Perry and Gayle King, now resides with Bezos in Miami’s ultra-private Indian Creek neighborhood, nicknamed “Billionaire Bunker.”

The couple’s Florida compound includes three mansions worth approximately $237 million, with their latest purchase—a $90 million, 12,000-square-foot estate—completed earlier this year. The move aligns with Florida’s tax-friendly policies for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, described by wealth advisor John Pantekidis as “nirvana” for figures like Bezos.

Seattle’s housing market, fueled by its tech boom, continues to rank among the nation’s most expensive, with Hunts Point homes averaging nearly $8 million. The Bezos mansion sale underscores the city’s luxury real estate surge, even as the billionaire shifts his focus—and property portfolio—to the Sunshine State.
