The upbeat outing comes just weeks after Williams publicly expressed optimism about ending her court-ordered guardianship, telling supporters at an April 1 #FreeWendy rally outside her assisted living facility: “It will absolutely 1000% happen.” She hopes to regain control of her life to pursue dreams of travel and romance, calling the legal arrangement “long overdue” for termination.
However, her court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey claims Williams has refused scheduled medical evaluations, including a March 21 MRI and neuropsychological assessment. “The parties cannot address concerns without testing,” Morrissey stated, while Williams dismissed the claims as “bulls—” during the rally.
Since May 2022, the media icon has lived under a dual financial/health guardianship at a luxury high-rise facility while managing dementia and cognitive health challenges. Her healthcare advocate recently revealed Williams is “excited” for a jury to potentially end the guardianship after competency reviews.
