Chris Hemsworth has admitted that he felt starstruck acting opposite Halle Berry in their upcoming film, Crime 101, calling the experience both nerve-wracking and inspiring.
The Thor star confessed to E! News at CinemaCon in Las Vegas: “I was very intimidated to sit opposite her within the scene and try not just be in awe of what she was doing.” Hemsworth, who is preparing to film the next Avengers installment, said he’s long admired the Oscar winner’s work.
Their collaboration proved transformative for the Australian actor. “People bring out not just the best in you, but also a comfort level where it does feel like it’s a place to explore,” he explained, adding, “That was the experience. I loved every second of it.”
Berry returned the praise, revealing Hemsworth earned her lifelong respect when he supported her during a difficult moment on set. “He stood up for me in a moment in our movie,” the X-Men star shared. “I instantly knew right then I’m going to follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of my life because he stood up for a woman.”
The film, adapted from Don Winslow’s novel and directed by Bart Layton (The Imposter), marks their first on-screen partnership. While Berry has denied rumors she’ll join Hemsworth in the upcoming Avengers film, their Crime 101 dynamic has already created Hollywood buzz.
