The Emmy-winning actress, best known for playing Detective Diane Russell on the hit crime drama, found herself on the other side of the law Saturday morning after a violent altercation at her Los Angeles home. Law enforcement sources confirm police responded to a domestic disturbance call involving Delaney and her partner James Morgan around 10 AM.
According to authorities, the argument turned physical, prompting paramedics to evaluate both individuals for injuries. The 62-year-old actress was booked on felony assault charges for allegedly causing great bodily injury, while Morgan faces misdemeanor domestic violence charges.
The arrest marks an ironic twist for Delaney, whose “NYPD Blue” role as a no-nonsense investigator earned her a 1997 Emmy. Her career also includes notable roles in “CSI: Miami,” “Army Wives,” and soap opera “All My Children.”
This isn’t Delaney’s first encounter with legal trouble. The actress was arrested for DUI in Malibu in 2002 and faced a 2024 lawsuit from a motorcyclist who accused her of fleeing an accident scene.
Neither Delaney nor Morgan have publicly commented on the incident as of publication time.
