Isaiah Stokes, a Hollywood actor known for roles in Blue Bloods, Power, and Law and Order: SVU, has been found guilty of second-degree murder and weapons charges in the 2021 killing of Tyrone Jones. Following a two-week trial, Stokes could receive a sentence of 25 years to life in prison, with his sentencing scheduled for March 21.
According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, Stokes and Jones first clashed at Jones’ birthday party in Queens in October 2020. Stokes was reportedly asked to leave after behaving inappropriately toward female guests, leading to a physical altercation. Stokes was injured by other partygoers during the incident, which authorities believe fueled his desire for revenge.
In January 2021, Stokes allegedly planted a GPS tracker on Jones’ car to monitor his movements. On February 7, 2021, Stokes used the tracker to locate Jones, who was sitting in his car outside a restaurant. Stokes fired 11 shots into the vehicle, killing Jones, who suffered fatal head and chest wounds.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz described the murder as “calculated,” stating that Stokes “stewed for months” after the party incident before carrying out the attack. “Intent on revenge, Isaiah Stokes placed a GPS on the victim’s car and tracked Tyrone Jones down to Linden Boulevard, where he ruthlessly shot the man 11 times as he sat in his car,” District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.
Stokes’ acting career includes appearances in popular TV shows such as The Americans, Boardwalk Empire, and Law and Order: SVU, as well as two episodes of Blue Bloods between 2012 and 2015. His conviction marks a stark contrast to his on-screen persona, as he now faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life behind bars.
