Megyn Kelly Claims Obamas “Married Wrong People” – Twitter Brutally Reminds Her of Her Two Divorces

Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly sparked backlash after declaring that Barack and Michelle Obama “married the wrong people,” citing Michelle’s candid discussions about their marital challenges.

But critics were quick to point out Kelly’s own complicated marital history—including two divorces—leading to a brutal social media roast.

On her podcast, Kelly dissected Michelle Obama’s recent remarks about her marriage, where the former First Lady opened up about adjusting to life post-White House and learning to prioritize her own needs. “Every word she says about Barack Obama is negative,” Kelly claimed. “She talks about how he’s insensitive, not a talker, doesn’t relate well to people… I think they married the wrong people.”

The take immediately drew scrutiny, with critics highlighting Kelly’s own romantic track record. Journalist Mike Sington fired back on X (formerly Twitter): “Megyn Kelly fails to mention she’s been married twice.” Others piled on, with one user quipping, “Says the woman who couldn’t make it work with either of her husbands.” Another added, “Maybe take a seat on marriage advice, Megyn.”

Kelly, who was married to Daniel Kendall from 2001 to 2006 and later to Douglas Brunt since 2008, has been open about her own relationship struggles in the past. But her critique of the Obamas—who have been married for over 30 years—struck many as hypocritical.

Meanwhile, the Obamas have been refreshingly honest about the realities of long-term marriage. Barack admitted he was in a “deep deficit” with Michelle after leaving office, while Michelle emphasized her newfound freedom to make choices for herself—something that, ironically, led to unfounded divorce rumors when she skipped some of his events.

The public dissection of their marriage continues to fascinate, but after Kelly’s latest take, one thing is clear: If you’re going to critique someone else’s relationship, maybe make sure your own house isn’t made of glass.
