Eight years after their tumultuous split, Chris Brown and ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran appeared to have turned a new page during a surprise encounter at Coachella’s opening weekend.
The former couple—who haven’t been photographed together since Tran obtained a five-year restraining order against Brown in 2017—were spotted laughing and chatting amiably at the Indio festival on April 13.
Tran, 36, looked effortlessly cool in black jeans and a cropped tank top accessorized with a chain belt and bandana, while Brown, 35, kept it casual in a black tee and gold chains.
Their friendly interaction marks a stark contrast to their 2017 legal battle, when Tran alleged in court documents that Brown had threatened her life, telling others “if no one else can have me, then he’s gonna ‘take me out.'” Brown had dismissed the claims at the time as “bulls–t” on Instagram.
The sighting comes amid a star-studded Coachella weekend that also featured Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet making their festival debut as a couple.
While Brown and Tran’s exchange appeared lighthearted, sources close to both confirm they’re strictly maintaining a cordial dynamic—a notable evolution given their history.
