Meagan Good Opens Up About Married Life with Jonathan Majors: “It’s Us Against the World”

Meagan Good is radiating happiness in her new marriage to Jonathan Majors. The 43-year-old actress, who secretly wed the Magazine Dreams star, 35, after their romance began in May 2023, shared an intimate glimpse into their relationship during an exclusive chat with PEOPLE at the NBCU Emmy Kick-Off Luncheon in Beverly Hills.

“It’s amazing,” Good gushed about newlywed life, though she admitted marriage has shifted their dynamic. “It feels different—when two people come together, make the same choice, the same commitment, there’s something really beautiful about that.”

The Harlem star, who confirmed their nuptials while promoting Majors’ film on Sherri in March, described their bond as unshakable. “I already felt like I had my person—it’s me and him against the world, whatever it may be,” she said, adding with a smile, “And I enjoy him so much.”

Good reflected on the deeper layers of marital commitment, calling it a “lifelong partnership” where she’s learned to embrace unconditional love. “You’re riding together until the wheels fall off,” she quipped, but emphasized that marriage also pushes them to grow. “It’s a commitment to being our best selves.”

The actress, who was previously married to pastor DeVon Franklin (divorced in 2022), acknowledged the unique challenges of blending lives with someone from a different background. “When you choose a partner with different experiences, love becomes a choice—through every season, highs and lows,” she said. “It’s the closest reflection of how God loves us: unconditional, with no limits.”

Though she jokingly clarified she “won’t deal with something crazy,” Good stressed that marriage has taught her “how loved [she] is” and what she deserves.

Majors, who was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment in December 2023 and sentenced to a batterers’ intervention program in April 2024, has stood by Good’s side as they navigate their new life together. For the actress, their union represents resilience and devotion. “There’s a reflection of divine love in marriage because of that level of commitment,” she shared.
