Romance rumors between singer Normani and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DeKaylin “DK” Metcalf have been confirmed, thanks to a sweet Instagram Story post. Over the weekend, the 27-year-old “Wild Side” performer shared a photo of herself smiling as Metcalf, 25, planted a kiss on her cheek.
The couple was dressed to the nines, attending the wedding of fellow Seahawks player Tyler Lockett.
The wedding was a star-studded affair, with former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson also in attendance. Wilson shared moments from the celebration on his Instagram Story, including a video of Normani and Metcalf dancing together, further fueling excitement about the couple’s relationship.
Speculation about the pair first began in June 2022, when they were spotted having dinner at Giorgio Baldi, a popular restaurant in Santa Monica, California. While neither confirmed the rumors at the time, their recent appearance at Lockett’s wedding has put any doubts to rest.
Before her relationship with Metcalf, Normani was linked to dancer Rameer Colon in 2021. She opened up about their relationship during an interview with Houston 97.9 that year, but the pair has since gone their separate ways.
Beyond her love life, Normani has faced significant challenges in her personal life. Earlier this year, she revealed in an interview for a Bose partnership that her father, Derrick Hamilton, was diagnosed with cancer shortly after her mother, Andrea, battled the disease for the second time.
In a separate interview with Billboard, Normani reflected on the resilience she’s built throughout her career. “I’ve been through a lot, just in my personal life, you know?” she said.
Even just talking about my parents and what they’ve been through, on top of COVID and trying to get [my debut album] out I’ve had a lot up against me.
But I always manage somehow to pull through as best as I can, and honestly, that’s by the grace of God and Him just giving me the strength to endure and persevere.”
