Just one day after dropping her highly anticipated seventh album, Mayhem, Lady Gaga took center stage on Saturday Night Live on March 8, pulling double duty as both host and musical guest.

The 38-year-old pop icon and actress delivered a night filled with humor, music, and unforgettable performances.

The show kicked off with a witty monologue in which Gaga humorously roasted herself over her upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux and even referenced her 2013 SNL hosting debut, which featured a controversial appearance by R. Kelly.

The evening was packed with comedic sketches, but the highlight came when the 14-time Grammy winner performed two electrifying tracks from Mayhem.

Gaga’s first performance was a high-energy rendition of the dance-pop anthem Abracadabra.

Dressed in a dazzling red ensemble, she was surrounded by dancers in black outfits and long red wigs, spinning around her inside a neon-lit structure. The choreography was sharp, and the energy was infectious.

For her second performance, Gaga took the stage with the funk-inspired track Killah. Starting backstage at Studio 8H, she made her way to the main stage, where she led a vibrant dance party backed by a live band.

The performance culminated in an electrifying finale, with Gaga rocking out next to the drum kit in a fiery display of passion and artistry.

Mayhem arrives after a stellar 2025 for Gaga, which included her chart-topping collaboration with Bruno Mars, Die With a Smile.

The hit spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her second-longest-running chart-topper after Born This Way. The duo also won a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The new album features a diverse lineup of collaborators, including producers Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Gaga’s fiancé, Michael Polansky.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Gaga shared insights into the creative process behind Mayhem, describing it as intentionally chaotic.

“There have been times in my career where I had a clear concept for an album, but this one came together organically,” she explained. “I didn’t want to force anything artificial. I just followed the music, and it started to feel reminiscent of my earlier work.”

Gaga’s SNL appearance not only showcased her versatility as an entertainer but also solidified her status as a pop culture powerhouse.

With Mayhem now out and a night of unforgettable performances behind her, Lady Gaga continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide.
