Music icon Billy Joel has announced the postponement of his upcoming concert dates, citing the need to focus on his health. In a statement shared on social media, the 75-year-old singer revealed that the next four months of his tour will be rescheduled due to a medical condition.

“The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow Billy to recover from recent surgery and undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors,” the statement read.

It also assured fans that Joel is expected to make a full recovery, with the tour set to resume on July 5, 2025, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.

Joel personally addressed his fans, writing, “While I regret having to postpone any shows, my health must come first.

I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our incredible fans. Thank you for your understanding.”

The announcement comes after Joel’s most recent performance on February 22 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

During the show, he briefly tripped after tossing his mic stand to a crew member at the end of “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” though he quickly recovered and continued the performance.

2024 has been a significant year for Joel, who released “Turn the Lights Back On,” his first new single since 2007.

The same year also marked the end of his decade-long residency at Madison Square Garden, a milestone in his legendary career. Ahead of the final shows, Joel told The New York Times that he had no plans to retire and intended to continue touring.
