The Empire State Building lit up in vibrant blue and yellow hues as Alicia Keys marked a triumphant year for her autobiographical musical Hell’s Kitchen this Wednesday.
The Grammy-winning artist hosted a dazzling celebration at the Shubert Theatre, where A-list friends including Ava DuVernay, Busta Rhymes, and Sherri Shepherd joined her mother Terria Joseph and husband Swizz Beatz for the milestone performance.
Inspired by Keys’ NYC upbringing and featuring her greatest hits, the Tony-nominated production has become a cultural phenomenon since its April 2024 premiere.
The night sparkled with celebrity guests walking the signature blue carpet before moving to Sei Less for an electrifying afterparty with the cast – including standout performers like Grammy winner Tank and Tony honoree Kecia Lewis.
Beyond the glittering celebration, Hell’s Kitchen has achieved extraordinary success in its debut year: snagging the 2025 Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album and having its original song “Kaleidoscope” become the official anthem of the 2024 U.S. Open. As the curtain rises on year two, Keys’ passion project continues redefining Broadway with its soulful celebration of home, heritage, and musical genius.
