Tallulah Willis is offering a rare glimpse into her evolving dynamic with Ashton Kutcher, her former stepfather during his marriage to her mother, Demi Moore. The 31-year-old daughter of Moore and Bruce Willis sparked conversation when she commented on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Instagram post about stepparenting in blended families, writing: “I have a lot to say on this! Especially how to move through an ex-step parent.”
When a follower asked if she was referring to Kutcher—who was married to Moore from 2005 to 2013, starting when Tallulah was just 11—she confirmed, “Yes I have personal experience with this,” adding, “No one needs to be the bad guy for a situation to be healed. There’s room for everyone.”
Tallulah previously revealed on Stars on Mars how her mother’s high-profile relationship with Kutcher (then 25 to Moore’s 40) impacted her during a vulnerable time. “It was 2003, my mom had just started dating Ashton… I really went inside of myself, and that did send me into a total dumpster fire,” she shared. “It was really hard, and I’m still unpacking.”
Kutcher, now married to Mila Kunis, has expressed enduring care for Tallulah and her sisters Rumer and Scout. On Marc Maron’s WTF podcast in 2020, he reflected: “I was helping raise teenage girls through their adolescence… I love them. I’m never going to stop loving them.” He emphasized respecting Bruce Willis’ role as their father, saying, “I always had respect and honored Bruce.”
Tallulah’s candid comments highlight the complex emotions surrounding blended families in the spotlight—and the possibility of healing. “I really love myself now, and I love my family,” she affirmed on Stars on Mars, signaling growth from past struggles.
