Rebecca Gayheart is redefining what a happy ending looks like. One month after dismissing her 2018 divorce filing from Eric Dane, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum shared an uplifting perspective on their unconventional family dynamic at The Carters: Hurts To Love You screening in Los Angeles.
“We are best of friends. We are really close. We are great coparents,” Gayheart told reliable sources about her relationship with the Grey’s Anatomy star, with whom she shares daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13. “We really figured out the formula to staying a family, and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it—and we are as well.”
The 53-year-old actress pushed back against labeling their 15-year marriage as a failure despite their separation. “It’s just a season,” she reflected. “We had two beautiful kids—I think that’s a successful relationship, and that’s how we look at it.”
While the couple has fueled reconciliation rumors through family vacations in recent years, speculation cooled last November when Dane, 52, was spotted dining with Euphoria costar Priya Jain. The Jawbreaker star’s decision to dismiss the divorce came just weeks before Jain posted (then deleted) photos with Dane in March, including matching tattoos and a caption about aligned stars and newfound love.
Gayheart attended the Paramount+ documentary screening to support director Soleil Moon Frye, her longtime friend. The film explores the complicated legacy of the Carter family, including Nick Carter and his late brother Aaron.
Neither Dane nor Jain have publicly addressed their relationship status, but Gayheart’s message remains clear: family comes first, whatever form it takes.
