Teddi Mellencamp revealed that her father, legendary rocker John Mellencamp, has already begun discussing her burial plans as she continues her fight against stage 4 melanoma.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 43, recounted the emotional yet darkly comedic conversation on her Two T’s In A Pod podcast, explaining how her dad called her 11 times in a row to confirm she would be laid to rest in the family mausoleum.
“I’m in the bath. Let me live a little,” Teddi joked when she finally answered, only for her father to immediately ask, “I just want to make sure you’re going to be in our group family mausoleum.”
She questioned whether there would also be space for her three children—Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5—whom she shares with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave. John assured her there would be room, adding, “You’re doing your will right now, so you may as well put it in there.”
Despite the heartbreaking reality of the discussion, Teddi maintained her signature dark humor, joking that she’d like “hot girls never die” engraved on her tombstone. She also quipped that she’d have to “travel to Indiana to visit [her] grave.”
The conversation comes after Teddi shared a devastating health update in March, revealing that doctors had discovered three more tumors in her brain and two in her lungs—all stemming from her melanoma diagnosis. Over the past two years, she has undergone the removal of 17 melanoma spots.
The latest update followed her February announcement that multiple brain tumors had been found after she suffered “severe and debilitating headaches,” with four large tumors ultimately being removed.
Teddi has remained open about her journey, balancing raw vulnerability with resilience and even laughter in the face of unimaginable hardship. As she navigates her health battle, divorce, and now funeral arrangements, her strength—and her family’s unwavering support—continues to shine through.
