Gal Gadot has revealed a harrowing health scare she faced during her pregnancy, crediting her mother for saving her life. In an interview with Good Morning America, the Wonder Woman star shared that she suffered a life-threatening blood clot in her brain while eight months pregnant with her fourth daughter, Ori, in 2024.
Gadot, 38, recalled experiencing severe headaches for three weeks but initially dismissed them. “I couldn’t do anything. I was in the dark; I couldn’t hear anything. It felt like my head was about to explode,” she said.
Despite consulting multiple neurologists, she was misdiagnosed with migraines. It was her mother who insisted on further testing, pushing for an MRI.
“My mom told my husband, ‘Enough. We need to get her checked,’” Gadot shared. “It was like the world was ending.” The MRI revealed a major blood clot, prompting an emergency C-section to deliver Ori, followed by a thrombectomy to remove the clot.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Gadot expressed immense gratitude. “I’m very happy to be alive and so grateful for everything,” she said, urging others to prioritize their health. “Our body always gives us signs. Just check yourself.”
Gadot also explained why she waited to share her story. “It was quite a recovery. It took me a good few months to get back to myself,” she said. “Now that I’m here, that’s the biggest reason why I talk about it.”
In an Instagram post announcing Ori’s birth in March 2024, Gadot reflected on the meaning behind her daughter’s name, which means “my light.” “Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel,” she wrote
