Baylee Littrell, the 21-year-old son of Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell, made a standout debut on American Idol during the Season 23 premiere.
Performing his original song, Waiting On Myself to Die, Baylee showcased his talent as a country singer, earning high praise from judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.
Underwood, a longtime Backstreet Boys fan, noted how much Baylee resembles his father and commended his emotional delivery, saying he could go “very, very far” in the competition.
Baylee, who grew up touring with his dad and even opened for the Backstreet Boys as a child, is determined to carve out his own path in music.
Brian Littrell expressed his pride, calling his son “10 times more talented” than he ever was.
In a heartwarming moment, Brian joined Baylee for an impromptu duet, harmonizing on the chorus of his son’s song.
The judges were moved by their performance, and Baylee received a golden ticket to advance to the Hollywood round.
With his talent, determination, and a proud dad by his side, Baylee Littrell is off to a strong start on his American Idol journey. Brian took to his Facebook to celebrate the success of his son.
