John Goodman was injured on the set of a new film at the renowned Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom. According to a source close to the situation, the actor took a fall while filming, though it wasn’t during a stunt.
He reportedly hurt his hip but is already recovering and is expected to return to filming next week.
The movie, which is currently untitled, is directed by four-time Academy Award winner Alejandro González Iñárritu and features an impressive cast alongside Goodman, including Tom Cruise, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sandra Hüller, and Riz Ahmed.
Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed the details of Goodman’s injury in a statement. While the film doesn’t have an official title yet, IMDb provides a brief synopsis: the story revolves around “the most powerful man in the world,” who causes a disaster and then sets out on a mission to prove he is humanity’s savior.
Tom Cruise has already been seen on set, heading toward a helicopter. It’s unclear what his next big stunt for this film will be, though we do know he’ll be hanging from a biplane in the upcoming Mission: Impossible installment.
Although Goodman’s injury isn’t serious, it’s still a concerning situation for the 72-year-old actor, who had to miss the 50th anniversary show of Saturday Night Live due to filming commitments.
We are hoping Goodman makes a full recovery, as expected, and is back on set in no time!
