Elon Musk, the billionaire tech mogul and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter), has once again expanded his family, this time welcoming his 14th child—a son named Seldon Lycurgus. The newborn is Musk’s fourth child with Shivon Zilis, a Canadian executive at Neuralink, Musk’s neurotechnology company. The announcement, made by Zilis on X, Musk’s social media platform, has reignited fascination with Musk’s unconventional approach to family life and his penchant for unique baby names.
Zilis, 38, shared the news in a heartfelt post, revealing that the couple had decided to disclose the birth alongside the birthday celebration of their daughter, Arcadia. “Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much,” Zilis wrote, accompanied by a heart emoji from Musk. The name Seldon Lycurgus joins Musk’s growing list of creatively named children, including Exa Dark Sideræl, Strider, Azure, and X Æ A-12, affectionately known as “X.”
Musk, 53, has long been an advocate for larger families, often expressing concerns about declining global birth rates. “Bravo to big families,” he declared three years ago, calling falling birth rates “the biggest danger civilisation faces by far.” His personal life reflects this belief, with his 14 children born to at least three different women: Zilis, musician Grimes (real name Claire Boucher), and his ex-wife, author Justine Wilson.
However, Musk’s family dynamics have recently become more complicated. A lawsuit filed by Ashley St. Clair, a 26-year-old conservative influencer, alleges that Musk is the father of her five-month-old son. St. Clair, who previously worked for the satirical website The Babylon Bee, claims there is “no doubt” about Musk’s paternity, citing text messages allegedly sent by Musk as evidence. In one message, Musk reportedly wrote, “I look forward to seeing you and him this weekend.” St. Clair publicly announced the paternity claim on X, but Musk has yet to respond.
Musk’s family tree is as sprawling as it is intriguing. With six children from his marriage to Justine Wilson, three with Grimes, and now four with Zilis, the billionaire’s personal life continues to captivate public attention. His children’s names, often inspired by mythology, science fiction, or abstract concepts, reflect Musk’s eccentric personality and his desire to stand out from the norm.
Beyond his personal life, Musk remains a polarizing figure, balancing his roles as a tech innovator, political influencer, and now, the head of the “Department of Government Efficiency” (Doge) in collaboration with former President Donald Trump. His advocacy for larger families aligns with his broader concerns about humanity’s future, even as critics question the environmental and societal implications of his lifestyle.
